THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE BY MTB

I had seen the three peaks done by bike over 3 different days but wanted to be the first to do it all within 24 hours on a bike. The only problem is that Scafell Pike has no bridleways so I decide to create a mtb 3 peaks by doing Snowdon, Helvellyn and Ben Nevis in that order, once again it coincided with the mtb world cup at Fort Bill so all was good! we set off up Snowdon at a fare pace and did it up and down in less than 2 hours. Onwards to Helvellyn which we did in the dark, we had the hill to ourselves stayed together on this one to be safe but all came down unscathed. Then we had a long drive to Fort William, we got there in the early hours of the morning with some hikers wondering what the hell we doing, we got back down in a total time of 18 hours.
I was the only one to have a problem, I hit a rock garden at pace and it somehow took off my chain and rear deraileur, we were glad to get to the pub that night. We all did this through the Mountain Bike Challenge Fund and all monies raised went to Macmillan Nurses. A Video is posted on Youtube at   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEJ-

COAST TO COAST

In aid of Bassetlaw A&E Trust Fund we rode from Runcorn to Hull, as a group of seven we did the 140 miles through the peak district. The first group of five set off about dinner on the Saturday and got to the Ladybower by the evening, then me and Paul Wardle went back to Runcorn to get a good nights sleep before setting off at 4:00am to race towards the Ladybower to meet up again with the others. We did the trip in 14 hours, the other guys did it in 17 hours over two days, they were Roy Tomlinson, Uli Schroeter, James Butler Shaun Rollinson and Steve Batty, we raised nearly 3 thousand pounds. Please take a look at our youtube video.
